In recent years, numerous enterprises and industries have gradually established factories in the areas surrounding Guigang City. Where there is industry, there is pollution. The Chinese government has placed significant emphasis on the issue of pollution discharged during industrial production and processing. Located upstream from the site where this equipment is installed, there are multiple factories. Therefore, a water quality testing station was set up to prevent upstream factories from engaging in the illegal discharge of pollutants.

However, the testing station is situated beside a river, in a remote area with no nearby villages or amenities. The staff's drinking and domestic water had to be drawn directly from the river. Additionally, the testing operations and the station's equipment also required clean water to function, presenting a significant challenge.
