In rural areas of southern China, water sources typically come from wells. Due to the terrain, this water often has a high calcium content, which can easily lead to health issues such as stones (calculi). Therefore, special water purification equipment is needed for deep water treatment to ensure safe consumption.

In rural areas, the water purification process generally involves first passing the water through a quartz sand filter to remove particulate matter. It then goes through a resin ion exchange bed to filter out calcium and magnesium ions. Next, it passes through a safety filter to remove other impurities and microorganisms, followed by ultraviolet sterilization. After being treated by this complete set of water purification equipment, the water is safe for direct drinking.
